July 9, Day 13

This morning, Bob and I bid farewell to York, Massachusetts to travel to Cape Cod for the next few days. We would like to see some lighthouses, and maybe spend a day in either Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard!
This is a pretty cool suspension bridge you drive through when you are entering Boston! Bob took his white knuckles away from the armrest and console to snap a quick pic.

This is a local street fair/market that Bob and I enjoyed walking through and browsing. We DID find a special something for Lindsay's T.J.!!!

We would hate to live here and NOT LIKE SEAFOOD! (pay close attention to the gal on the LEFT...I think she enjoys her crabcake sandwich!)

This cutie was enjoying a local street fair in Wood's Hole. Later this afternoon, in the town square, families brought their kids and pets, laid out blankets (or sat on their lawn chairs), and watched a public outdoor showing of the movie "Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang"!) The townspeople were able to get free popcorn from a local vendor! The community is very tight, and we spent about an hour talking with a very nice local policeman...who has even heard of Arizona's Sheriff Joe!

Driving along the shoreline at Cape Cod, many of the cottages people own/rent are built at least 8-10 feet off the beach, on stilts.

Nobska Lighthouse is located at the entry to the cove in Falmouth, Mass. where we are staying (in Cape Cod) for the next 2 nights.

Just thought I'd include a little history about the lighthouse, if you are interested.

Ilove the colors and close placement of these small boats tethered to the dock.

We spotted this cute indoor/outdoor, on-the-water restaurant named "Shuckers" and ended up sitting outside right by the boats and the water here in "Woods Hole" in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The weather is perfect, and we have been very blessed.

This is so wonderful! Too bad the end of this vacation is drawing near...and back to work we go. We need to savor every moment because the next vacation is farrrrr away!

Scrump-dilly-umptious! Roberto's lobster roll looks like it just was pictured in Bon Appetit!!! Like my sister, Debbie, and I always say..."so many meals, but so little time!"

Bib donned and shell-cracker ready, I can't wait to dig into this feast...stuffed lobster, corn-on-the-cob, and new red potatoes...is your mouth watering??? (mine still is!)

When Bob had finished his lobster roll, he had leftovers which he enjoyed throwing to the Momma and Papa ducks, and their precious little ducklings...

An ornery striped base would occasionally snatch up the offerings, and all the ducks would scatter momentarily. He was exceptionally quick!

These babies were vying for each piece of bread that Bob would offer.

This truck holds various beers soon to be unloaded to several local harbor restaurants. What caught my eye was Landshark beer...I've never heard of it. Maybe Brandon or Jon have sampled this recently !?!

A lovely display of buoy markers adorns this wooden fence. Life in the summer on the Cape seems slower and more relaxed...much like this gentleman enjoying a quiet time on his porch. We love all the Fourth of July decorations adorning the Northeasterners homes...left up days after the major celebrations. Later this evening, Bob and I enjoyed dinner downtown in Falmouth, Mass. at an Irish pub that also specializes in fresh seafood. We decided to leave the camera behind.
