July 5, Day 9

It's Saturday, July 5, and Bob and I are on the road again, driving from Newport, Vermont to Bar Harbour, Maine through the tip of New Hampshire. We are including a few shots we selected taken en route...
A typical New England church, pretty with tall steeple, surrounded by green trees, brilliant flowers, set against a background of blue skies with puffy white clouds...
I thought Bob took a REALLY BAD WRONG TURN, OR he drove REALLY FAST while I was busy taking photos...who knew there is a Mexico, Maine!??!?!?

It could be a small town in New Hampshire or Maine ???

I'm trying to remember (most of these pics we took out the car window while driving!), but I believe this as just a HOUSE - what a GRAND OL' PLACE! I especially love the front porch and the upstairs dormer windows.

Here we are (AT LAST!) at Bar Harbour's "Wonder View Inn & Suites" overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and just minutes from the quaint harbour town, full of LOBSTER for Bobster AND CRAB!!! YUM...we need to EAT AGAIN...

This is one angle of our view of the crystal-blue Atlantic Ocean, as seen from our Inn room's deck! The Queen Elizabeth II. liner happens to be just off-shore this afternoon, and it is truly a magnificent ship! Bar Harbour is the largest island on the Eastern seaboard = Fun Fact!

This is waiting for the Inn's shuttle to take us into town for dinner...our lame attempt at a "My Space" pic! We got pictures (not included here) of T-shirts hanging in a storefront downtown...especially for Lindsay's sboyfriend, T.J. from New York (who is a diehard Yankees fan): one shirt says "There's no crying in BASEBALL...unless you're a Yankees fan!" and "I'm only a fan of the Red Sox (or whichever team beats the Yankees)!

Bob should really try to relax and have more FUN while on vacation...I wish he could loosen up a bit! (We got a big kick out of how the restrooms in this restaurant are labeled on the doors: "inboards" and "outboards"!)

Geddy's Restaurant and Bar is a lively evening hangout with great food, located at the far end of Bar Harbour's Main Street, close to the waterfront. Bob and I enjoyed "crab balls with mustard sauce," a great salad, and lobster fettucini alfredo...YUM!!! And the marguaritas aren't bad either! :>]

This is a ROWDY, but VERY YUMMY place to hang out at night...CRAZY PEOPLE, so we fit right in!

This is one of the fun couples we met at the restaurant and enjoyed eating with at the bar. The restaurant was quite CROWDED, and the wait was cut in half by joining others.

Jessica (from Philadelphia) and Jay (from Manhattan) - TWO lawyers who recently got married but STILL don't live together...?????? Bob says this is a TERRIFIC idea...LOL! This couple was so nice and we enjoyed their company very much!
